Agathian Kids@Kuala Gandah Elephant Sanctuary

The Agathian Kids went for an adventure trip to Pahang and they had lots of fun.They visited the DeerLand and the Elephant Santuary sponsored by a team of great individuals.The journey was approximately 3hours with a couch and we had a guide with us as well.Taking kids to feed animals is honestly fun as they love animals.No words can mention the fun they had and for me, pictures tell a million words.2009 has been a great year and for the kids from Agathians Shelter they will have a great memory for 2009.

Colorful Christmas@ AS-IT, Sunway Mas

I was invited to perform a stand-up comedy in As-It a really cool joint located in Sunway Mas Comercial Center near Dataran Prima.The theme for the night was "Colorful Christmas" and it was an awesome night.

The menu for the night was,

Cold Nuts Station

Turkey Stuffing

Swiss Onion Soup

Christmas Spaghetti

Lamb Roast Turkey

The food was good and importantly the company of people hanging out there was fun.Every Tuesdays and Thursday the customers are welcome to display their talent as a form a expression.You can sit back and enjoy singing voices,thumbing drums, cool saxophones and dancing.

As-It is a suitable place to hang out and release work presure in a more positive way.Self expresion of talent is one great way to enjoy life.Most important with good food, cool people and relaxing set up where you will have a wonderful night.

I performed a preview of my stand-up to entertain the crowd which I can honestly say a bunch of fun people.I thank them for the support and for not throwing sharp objects at me when I performed.

Far Intervention Youth Trainig in Art

 It was a great news for me to find out, Far Intervention, owned by Kenneth Lim has come forward to donate certain percentage of his companies profit for the children in homes. Most importantly I am looking at child development and youth training for the children to better equip them self  to be highly confident and have the motivation to stand on their own.Something Far Intervention can provide.

Far Intervention, would also look into training the children to be an expert in art and as time comes the children will be able to express their feelings and talent using art.This training is not focused for only for one home, it will be focused for all the children.It takes time to cover all the children but, I belive working on one home step by step it will eventually progress.

Art changes people and it is also another way to improve the learning curve of the children.The main objective of training is to identify children who are talented and promote thier art piece and provide jobs for those who are interested. The exposure will create new talents.

Its going to be a wonderful year ahead!

Spice Garden invited kids for the "Christmas Bonanza"@Holiday Villa

It was truely an unforgettable night for ten children from the Stepping Stones Living Center as they were invited for the "Christmas Bonanza" under the management of Spice Garden in Holiday Villa.I had the humble opportunity to meet Mr. Batra's son during this function and to thank him for including children in his company dinner.Never the less I would also like to thank Ms. Santhi from VPositive Events for organising such a Bonanza!

The dinner was well equipped with games, singing and dancing to entertain the clients, suppliers and friends who has been working together with Spice Garden.The children loved the entertainment and being themselves they went up to the stage to dance and sang Christmas songs for the guest.Surprisingly Santa Claus who was at the dinner had a small tummy. (haha, its not up to my expectation but he did give lots of sweets)

I was invited to perform but ended up enjoying the food served as it was really good.Honestly I am not an Indian food person but I was mesmerized for a while.It was slightly spicy for me and I think serving spicy food is a great way of branding "Spice Garden".

Thanks to Spice Garden Asia for spicing up the night for the kids!Its another priceless moment.

IPods@Bangsar Shopping Center

Saturday morning, Jessica Naufal and I woke up early to actually rush to Bangsar Shopping Center for the launch of the new Mac Store.

What's so great about this is? The first 100 people to line up will get a chance to get a "Woohoo" box.In the "Woohoo" box we may get a chance to win an IPod Nano, Magic Mouse or not IPod shuffle.The event started at 2pm, but we started queeing up at 10.30am.We waited till 2pm and it was like camping.We prepared food, water, breakfast cum lunch and our self to entertain ourself.Guess what, none of us won any IPod but ther was some gifts in the box.But the experience was fun!

Santa's Little Christmas Party@Summit Subang USJ

The management at Summit Subang USJ has selected 5 homes for their Santa's Little Christmas Party.The Christmas party will be held on the 23 December for 5 homes together with 102 kids and teenagers. Agathian Shelter’s resident is one of the guest for that day.The management successfully got sponsors from the tenants at Summit Subang and also from kind shoppers to donate to buy toys for the children.

A Great Program After All

Months ago I was promoting the School Year End Program to raise funds and get a donator to sellect a child and donate school uniform, shoes and stationaries.I got many calls this week from kind people who want to support this program and I had to update them that we managed to get funds and cloths for all the children.This is great, imagine the change that had been done.Next year every child in Stepping Stones Living Center will go to school with new school attire and study comfortably with good stationaries.

Thanks to all the people who help financially and also for those who shared this information on Facebook.

Its a great Christmas this year and a Wonderful New Year for the children.

Agathians Shelter @ Petaling Jaya

Recently while establishing the list for homes to add into a foundation I come across this home which was referred to me by Child Malaysia representative.The children in this home are from different races and in need for financial and education assistants.Please pass this information around as it will reach more people and create more awareness to support the children.

The birth of AGATHIANS SHELTER is best described to go hand in hand with the saying

“a help in need is a help indeed”.

AGATHIANS SHELTER is an orphanage for boys that was founded in 2003 by a team of young adults. It was set up to save a group of children from being turned out to the street and to provide a home for them .

The children are from various backgrounds; some are orphaned, some only have a single parent who can’t afford to feed them and others are either abandoned or neglected.

Our volunteers then decided to start a home to care and house these children.

This is how AGATHIANS SHELTER was born.
