How I see life, is slightly straight forward. Just like every person we plan to build a life and plan slightly for the future. Some investment and the rest is to survive. I went to work one day and wore a tie. Apparently the tie seemed pretty old looking. I get a remark “are you wearing your dads tie?” .Its funny people actually looked at my tie and I just smiled. I don’t look at a persons clothing and judge a person. This goes for race and religion. But I was pondering on that question.
I remember one hawker shop uncle who sells Soya Bean drink at the “pasar malam". Once I was waiting to pack my soya bean, one of the customer asked him, “Uncle why you wear torn shirt?”, and the Soya uncle answered politely , “I don’t care if I wear a torn shirt, as long as my children and wife wear good cloths I am happy”.Just think about that answer.He manage to send his children to college and provide them with a good future.He wore a torn shirt.
Now thats call a man!.
So is it relevant if I wear a tie that looks old.For me it’s a lucky tie, I wore it for every interview I went. Why are people so obsessed with appearance?.I think I am a guy and I an not a beauty pageant so I can wear anything I want. My objective in life is to help the needy and build a career and enjoy it with family.
Came across another scenario where this guy asked my, “You still driving the same car?”. What kind of silly question is that?. Should I be changing cars every year?. How dumb do you think I am. Do you know the financially a car is a liability?. Unless you are in sales and can afford a good car, why not.But for me, I don’t want to change a new car just to impress people.Than I realize people actually judge you with what car you have.No matter how you deny this, its true.Big car means doing well, same old car means not doing so well.For me , big car means more debts and small car means more money to investing.People my age rushing to be better and showing off with MYVI and Kancil.This are cars I wont even consider.But this does not give me the right to condem anyone who buys one.If a fren buys a car, I am happy for them.But how come people don’t be happy for each other?.They keep in touch to make sure the other person is not doing well. What are we ? suddenly we become worse than animals.
But not all think negative. I come across one person who actually was so happy for me when I mention I bought something. You don’t find people like this now days. Never judge a person richnes with the material they own. You don’t know a person’s bank balance. You should not judge a person by their bank balance.So I guess its cooler to wear an old tie cause I know who are my true friends.
For those who judge a person on materials, this proofs how shallow your thinking is.
